Probability

We have been learning lots of new language in Probability.  We have learnt about chance, possible, impossible, likely and less likely.


Oscar F - What is the chance that I choose the red one?
Nubaid - It is less likely because there is only one.



Britta - What is the chance of me picking a black dinosaur?
Julia - It would be impossible because there are no black dinosaurs.


Aaron - What is the chance of choosing a green dinosaur?
Brodie - It is likely because there are more greens than yellows.


Alexi - What is the chance of me choosing a yellow one?
Ruby - It is impossible because there are no yellow ones.

What do I need for Cross Country?


You will need mufti for running in.

You will need trainers to run in.

A plastic bag to carry home all your muddy clothes.
A warm coat to keep warm.

Week 4 The Colour Break Through group made play dough!

Play Dough Recipe

Play dough is a great activity for children and parents of all ages!

Ingredients
2 cups flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tablespoons cooking oil
2 tablespoons cream of tartar
2 cups boiling water
1 teaspoon food colouring
Mix all dry ingredients, add oil and boiling water with food colouring, mix well.
Store in an airtight container.
To add interest you can add glitter for a textural change, some aromatherapy scented oil for smell.

Miss P's Writers

My dream school looks wonderful. It’s made out of clouds! We have ice-skating. There is a gymnastics competition! My school has interesting things like bugs and science and aquariums and butterflies too. I would like a swimming pool. The school has a fair. The fair has lollies. Nearly every day the children have breakthrough. All the children tell the truth when they hurt someone or broken something. By Brooke
My schools name is Almor Junior High. The school has no rubbish and the school is clean. You can even have dinner there. A wizard would be your teacher. You could have a cake there. WALHT: Give and receive feedback in writing

Today we gave feedback to each other in our writing.

We talked about sharing the things that we liked and suggesting a next step or two.  We decided that feedback is a really exciting thing as it reminds us of what we did well and helps us in our learning.

We also looked at the WALHT ('We Are Learning How To...') and tried to decide if the learner focused on this.

Used children's books

We are starting to prepare for the school fair next term.  

If you have any used children's books that you don't read anymore we would love to have your donations! 

Books need to be in good order (i.e. no rips and not falling apart), so they can be enjoyed at a new home. If you have a few spare plastic bags, that would be appreciated too.

Books can be given to Mrs Freddy in hub 5/6 .

Break Through - Machines

Dom - Transformer this one is a leader of the bad transformers.

Elliott- Massive and bashes houses.

Jasmine- Crane it breaks stuff and picks things up.

Harrison- My robot is a transformer it can turn into a plane a police car and it has machines inside it and it is called Harry.

Alex F - Machine at MOTAT the wheel turn around.

Nubaid- This is a pizza, cheese machine. This is the stop button and it stops making cheese.

Siddhu - Its a shower machine You pull a thing and the water comes down.

Divesh - This is a snow machine and it makes small bits of ice like crystals and it shoots snow out of it.

Maria- My machine is called flyer and it flies.

Oscar F Mine is a fork lift and it can carry people and people can use the steps. It is called Robbie.

Max- Mine is a dog machine it can carry strong stuff. It can help people.

Lucas- Mine can carry heavy blocks of stone and a person needs to drive it and then there is a fork lift that can carry houses. It is called Oscar and Aaron.

Aaron- I have a slingshot and a play robot and robot that can fly.

Brodie - I have a robot that can’t fly and a flying robot and a slingshot.

Kyle- I have a machine that can create clothes and it has soap and dries up.

Reilly- this is a crane that can transform into a car and a spitfire it is a kind of plane.

Oscar D - This is a crane and it lifts stiff high and low.

Joshua- I made a robot that is lazy and it can toast bread.

Cooper - I made a robot that has wings and arms and it can fly and lift. the other one is a cleaning robot.

Mio- My robot is a shower robot he can shower on the lava. He makes the volcano cold and freezing.

Katie- My machine is where you put the angry bird into the slingshot and then it fires and it is electric. It will know if it is a bad guy or not.
